Go to: www.MYAA.net to sign up!

IMPORTANT INFO FOR PARENTS:

1.) Why do we register now for a “spring” sport? The league we play in - South Jersey Youth Lacrosse - requires us to submit the number of teams we will have in each division as well as the flight levels of the older groups, by the first week of February. League Play will begin March 15. We have to hold our registration this early so we can get a handle on how many teams we will have at each division, host indoor clinics to get the girls warmed up for the season and have player evaluations for the older age groups.

2.) We will be holding pre-season winter clinics for our U8-U12 age groups (1st-5th grade). These clinics start on January 8th and are open to any player who is registered for the 2026 season.

January 8: 4:30-6pm @ Marlton Field House

January 15: 4:30-6pm @ Marlton Field House

January 22: 4:30-6pm @ Marlton Field House

January 29: 4:30-6pm ONLY 5th/6th grade Evaluations @ Marlton Field House

3.) Please help us spread the word about registration! Please tell your friends, neighbors and classmates that registration is open.

Evaluation Overview

Our program is a member of South Jersey Youth Lacrosse league (SJYLAX).  This league is comprised of over 22+ municipal youth lacrosse programs from all over South Jersey.

In order to give players the opportunity to compete at a high - yet skill appropriate - level, SJYLAX will flight teams for ages U12 and U14.

Many other travel programs in town (i.e. soccer and basketball) also conduct evaluations prior to their season starting. However, unlike those programs, there are NO CUTS in our sport. Any girl, who wants to play, will not be turned away in our program. We WILL put them on a team.

Our evaluations are held in order to form teams that give each player an opportunity to develop her lacrosse skills in a challenging environment with players of comparable skill level.

Evaluations will be held in early February often after 2 to 3 weeks of pre-season indoor clinics.

Evaluations have been/will be conducted by experienced coaches/evaluators including: middle school coaches, current and past high school coaches and/or current/past MYAA coaches.

Evaluation results for an individual player and where they ranked on an overall scale can be provided to the parents of that player upon written request. However, MYAA confidentiality rules prohibits sharing scores of other players.

EVALUATION ATTENDANCE:

All U12 and U14 players are expected to attend evaluations in order to be placed on a team.

EVALUATORS:

No coaches for an age group will evaluate that age group. U12 coaches will NOT evaluate U12 players. U14 coaches will NOT evaluate U14 players. Evaluators will be made up of current and former high school coaches, collegiate players, former middle school coaches and current and former coaches from the program who have coached top ranked teams in these age groups in the past.

EVALUATION DRILLS:

Players will be split into groups and evaluations will begin with stick work progressions, shuttle progressions (dom, non-com, switching hands, accuracy passing, etc...). Players wil then go thru a series of "game like" situations finishing in a full field scrimmage. Evaluators will have a check list of the skills/technique/abilities that should be displayed by a player. Players are not graded in relation to the other players in their group/team, they are graded on their individual ability to display the skills, game IQ and abilities outlined in the player evaluation scale.
